Kaizer Chiefs Game
The game is accessible to all app users, with a particular focus on Kaizer Chiefs fans. Users can select their “player” from the current team roster displayed as playing cards and compete in soccer/football matches against other players.
BRIEF:
Creating a game within the app where players can select a team member from the current roster representing members of their team, and then engage in a mobile soccer game featuring the current players.
Challenge
The challenge is to design with the understanding that Kaizer Chiefs is a globally recognised soccer team, requiring strict adherence to their CI guide. I aim to incorporate their unique patterns as a visual element while creatively utilising the brand’s limited color palette. Additionally, I plan to develop a “dark themed” game, ensuring it remains accessible to all users despite the constraints.
Solution
I used their pattern as an overlay for depth, added yellow for standout elements, and incorporated blue from their away jerseys for a fresh look, resulting in a nicely displayed dark theme.
Using the team members as playing cards gave the game a nice visual aspect.
